Land Sold at Bedford Road, Bromham, Bedfordshire

Savills in Cambridge has recently completed the sale of 100 acres of land at Bedford Road, Bromham.

Lying just to the south of the Bromham bypass, 92 acres of arable land with a guide price of £240,000 and eight acres of ancient woodland guided at £15,000 were for sale in two lots.

The sale created a large amount of interest from local residents as well as from nearby farmers and investors from further afield. As expected, the woodland generated the majority of the interest and offers considerably over the asking price were received.

In the event, the land was sold as a whole at a substantial premium. The buyer was a private individual seeking property to put into their Charitable Trust for Nature.

Tom Tavener of Savills in Cambridge said: "The interest generated by this sale really reflected the wide range of non-farming buyers and their importance in the current land market as they continue to prop up land prices despite the current low profitability of conventional farming."
